Residential
Open-Concept Kitchen, Redondo Beach
Walls came down, sightlines opened to the back of the house, and a stone countered island became the new center of gravity.

The clients wanted to cook, host, and watch the kids do homework all in the same room — without giving up the storage and counter space that made the original kitchen work.
We removed two non-bearing walls and re-engineered a header to open the kitchen to the dining area without sagging the ceiling. New shaker cabinetry runs floor-to-ceiling along the working wall to recover the storage we lost in the remodel.
The stone countered island is the showpiece, slabbed and seamed by hand to keep the veining continuous around the corner. Glass pendants and stainless built-in refrigeration finish the look.
